Dr. Christel is the heart and soul of Christel Chiropractic. He has a passion for helping people like you get out of a cycle of medical care that wastes time and does not end with the desired results.
Too often people come in acknowledging that they have been getting the runaround from other healthcare providers—they might get a test, but then are forced to wait weeks before they get care and months before they see progress. With Dr. Christel, he is enthusiastic about ensuring efficient visits that lead to sought-after results and early signs of progress.
Most patients come in after a week, and they feel better. There’s a bit of a reward when that happens and patients say they should have come here first instead of seeking other options.”
Getting on the Chiropractic Path
As a former high school athlete and college athlete, Dr. Christel chose his career path based on how chiropractic care benefited him as he recovered from a back injury suffered as a teenager.
Dr. Christel began practicing as a chiropractor in 1986, after earning his Doctor of Chiropractic from The National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois. He moved back to his hometown of Reading in 1986. Even after all these years, he is still motivated to help people resolve health issues and live a more comfortable life.

Outside the Practice Interests
Basketball is a significant part of Dr. Christel’s life story. He is a former college player who was captain of the Princeton University basketball team with life lessons and principles he still carries from his college coach. His experience receiving care as a high school athlete has helped him relate to other athletes.
While he no longer plays basketball, Dr. Christel enjoys being around the game. He has attended many college basketball Final Fours, and enjoys watching and attending Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies games.
In addition, he likes to travel, with frequent visits to national parks and stops in all 50 states in America after a recent trip to Alaska.
