Introducing Kenhorst Chiropractor Dr. Neil Christel

"I admit, I was a skeptic," remembers Dr. Neil Christel. "But my parents insisted that I try chiropractic since I was experiencing almost daily low back pain after my high school basketball injury. I was reluctant, but to humor my parents I made an appointment to see Dr. Seger, the local chiropractor."

"It was incredible," continues Dr. Christel. "I'll never forget that first adjustment. It was as if a huge weight was suddenly lifted from my low back. That's when I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor."

Dr. Christel began his pre-chiropractic education at Princeton University where he graduated with a degree in biology. He also studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with physiology, and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at The National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois. During his four year at National, his courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the National College Public Clinic. After graduating in 1986 Dr. Christel returned to the Reading area to establish his practice.

"We love skeptics," smiles Dr. Christel  I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the chiropractor for the first time. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that."

Dr. Neil Asks some important questions of interest to Kenhorst residents - Chiropractor Kenhorst Dr. Neil Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
What's your plan to deal with drug-resistant 'super germs'?
Chiropractors have always been concerned with the indiscriminate use of antibiotics, accelerating the mutation of microbes that make "wonder" drugs increasingly ineffective. My strategy? Do everything possible to bolster my immune system through proper diet, rest, exercise, clean air, pure water and an optimally functioning nervous system with regular chiropractic care.
